The name for these infected people is 'hemophages' and the government has come down strong against them, slaughtering and imprisoning them and setting the stage for an armed struggle between the two groups, known as the Blood War. The result is a totalitarian government ruling with an iron fist and a endless conflict.

Violet Song is a hemophage fighting for the resistance against the government. When word leaks about a new weapon designed to kill every last hemophage she infiltrates the Archministry where the weapon is held. She manages to capture it only to find out it is in the form of a child.

Violet is ordered to destroy it anyway, her superiors inform her that the boy contains antigens that can be used to wipe out the hemophages. She refuses and takes the child with her to her trusted friend Garth. He examines the child and discovers that the boy has only hours to live and is fitted with a tracking device. The examination also reveals that the antigens in the boy are not deadly to hemophages at all, confusing the situation.

It turns out that the Archministry is playing a bigger game, and the boy was part of a plan for a new plague to cement their power. Violet finds herself fleeing from them and also from her old hemophage bosses, who want to use the antigens against humans. She decides on one last desperate gambit to save the boy and put an end to the threat; attack the lab that created him in the first place.

Best part of story, including ending: The execution is weak but it is a visually very cool film.

Best scene in story: Violet riding the bike.

Opinion about the main character: She's pretty much a cypher.
