UNDER FIRE is a film directed by Roger Spottiswoode in 1983.
Russell Price is a well-known war reporter whose photographs have already made the cover of Time magazine. Russell is in Managua, Nicaragua in 1979. The situation is more and more tense everyday in the country as the Sandinistas, led by the commandante Rafael, fight guerrilla operations against the army of the dictator Anastasio Somoza.

Price gets a unique opportunity to meet the Commandante Rafael but only Rafael's dead body is shown to him. Price is asked by Rafael's friends to take a fake picture him to convince people Rafael is still alive. Price agrees after having witnessing the bloody mass murders committed by Somoza's army against the Nicaraguan population.
