Meanwhile, a cop Sebastian, investigates the lab incident that Dr. Lane downplays. However, Sebastian knows that Dr. Lane is hiding something since he knows that something escaped.

Selene goes to the apartment of a lab employee to get some answers, she learns that Antigen has been working on an antidote to stop the vampire/werewolf outbreak. Meanwhile, Selene has also been getting visions of another person's memories, and thinks she is tapping into Michael's thoughts.

She then runs into the sewers, and is chased by werewolves. But a guy David, helps her. He's a vampire and he and his clan have been hiding for many years to avoid their slaughter. Selene then gets another vision, which leads her to a little girl, Eve. She has escaped from the lab as well and is of vital importance to the scientists. She is a hybrid. They escape in a van but are chased by werewolves. Eve transforms, and in the fight gets seriously hurt. Selene learns that Eve is her daughter. David takes them to his lair, for medical help.

Humans arrive at the vampire hideout looking for Eve. Werewolves also attack them, mortally wounding David. Selene is attacked by a monstrous lycan, which is unusually large and super strong. She manages to survive. Eve is taken. Selene then revives David by pumping his heart and leaves the scene. Selene then goes to Sebastian, who is sympathetic to Selene since his wife was killed because of vampires. They plan to rescue Eve from the lab.

Back at the lab, Eve is worked on by the scientists, and we learn that Dr. Lane is a werewolf. He has been researching a way to resist the effects of silver, and not working on a werewolf/vampire antidote, as he initially said. He infuses the serum into his son Quint, making him invincible. Selene plants explosives all over the labs and fights werewolves that attack her. She stumbles upon a cryogenically-frozen Michael in the basement, and breaks the glass, but since she needs to save Eve, she runs out.

Sebastian, and then David show up as back-up for Selene. Meanwhile, Eve fights Dr. Lane, who has turned. Eve kills him. Quint pursues Selene, she jams a silver grenade into his chest, which closes up because of his enhanced healing powers, it then explodes inside of him, blowing him into bits.

Selene is reunited with Eve, however, Michael is nowhere to be seen, they hope that he has escaped to safety.
Best part of story, including ending: Because we learn that Selene and Michael have a child who is stronger than any of them.

Best scene in story: When Eve rips out Lane's spine, as revenge for the years of torment he gave her.

Opinion about the main character: Selene can't catch a break, and can't get her happy ending with Michael. However, it is a consolation to discover that their love bore them a child.
