Her stint as a weathergirl failed but Justice sees a undeniable potential in Atwater that he think is good for the news. In a heart beat, Atwater takes a job as an anchorwoman, absorbing everything her enviroment, despite the lack of a journalism background or knowledge of it. Soon enough, Atwater aroused the public interest, especially as her inside report of a prison ward, during a local riot in town.
With her great journalistic skills, the media has fallen in love with her nationwide and so does Justice, even though he does not act on his feelings for awhile. As Sally builds up a very impressive resume, Warren strongly feels it is his time to go back to his journalism roots and do a reporting in Panama. But before it happens, a big-time agent Bucky Terranova gives Sally a lucrative offer to work as a newswoman in Philadelphia, which is a setup by news media competitor, Marcia McGrath.
