Vampire's Kiss Movie Review Summary

Actors: Nicolas Cage, Maria Conchita Alonso, Jennifer Beals, Elizabeth Ashley

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Vampire's Kiss

Literary agent Peter Loew (Cage) seems successful, but is lonely and goes to clubs and bars for companionship. One night he meets Rachel (Beals), who bites him during a bout of lovemaking. Feeling ill the next morning, he fears he is becoming a vampire, but keeps seeing Rachel and his psychiatrist (Ashley), as well as terrorizing and eventually raping his secretary (Alonso). This has to be one of Cage's worst movies, because of its confusion -- at times over-the-top campy, at others revolting. Cage transforms from uptight snob to a total lunatic, eating a live cockroach on screen and reeling about Manhattan with fake plastic vampire teeth in his mouth. The scenes with Ashley are laughably banal, and somehow Beals gets her hammy lines out without retching.
