This film relates the last months of the life of Veronica Guerin, a journalist working for a Dublin newspaper. In 1996, Veronica decides to write about the growing drugs problem faced by the city of Dublin. She questions the dealers, the junkies, the policemen and the politicians. After the publication of her articles, Veronica is threatened by the local drug lord and even shot in the leg by an hired killer one night at home. Despite the advices of her friends, Veronica, convinced that no one will ever dare to shoot an Irish journalist, decides to go on with her investigations.
