Three years later Taylor's sister Maddie is dumped by her no good boyfriend and Taylor suggests she takes a break to find herself on the same island. Maddie does exactly that, then flies Taylor out to stay with her for the summer, and to surprise her with the news that she is getting married to a guy she has known for just a few months…….. And the guy is Rafe.
Rafe and Taylor try to deny their true feelings for each other, and keep their past a secret from Maddie, as the wedding plans continue.
Maddie's ex-boyfriend, Doug, turns up on the island and does his best to get Maddie back in the days before her wedding, including turning up in her bed room after the hen night, but Maddie continues to turn him down. Taylor is getting increasingly upset as she can't keep her feelings for Rafe under wraps. Then at the beginning of the hen do Maddie finds out that Rafe was the holiday romance that Taylor has never really forgotten.
Taylor and Rafe explain, and claim they feel nothing for each other now, and Maddie forgives them and the hen and stag nights go ahead as planned.
The wedding begins, but before they say their vows Maddie realises that she is in love with the idea of love rather than Rafe himself, and that she needs to be on her own for a while…….. Then she gives Taylor the go ahead to tell Rafe how she feels, which Taylor does and she and Rafe kiss.
The film is a musical, with loads of 80's hits spread throughout and fitted very well into the story. This is a real feel good movie, with loads of sun, pretty beaches and uplifting dance and song.
Best part of story, including ending:
I really liked that the ending wasn't obvious, and the way that Maddie's character developed and didn't go back to Doug
Best scene in story:
I love the big dance finale, it is set on the beach and to one of my favourite tunes, and is a really feel good scene
Opinion about the main character:
Taylor seems to be a little one dimensional in many ways, her sister Maddie is a much better developed character
