Patchi's father Bulldust begins to migrate his family south. While passing through a forest, Patchi witnesses an evil dinosaur named Gorgon kill his father Bulldust.
A former friend of Bulldust's named Major takes over the herd. Major combines Patchi's herd and Juniper's herd together. Gorgon attacks the new herd. Patchi and Juniper fall into a river, but they find their way back to the herd.
After many years of migrating north and south, Patchi's brother Scowler wants to be the leader of the herd. Scowler battles Major to see who will be the leader of the herd. Scowler wins and becomes the leader.
Scowler challenges Patchi to be the leader of the herd, but the bigger Scowler easily wins. As a result of the loss, Patchi is kicked out of the herd.
Devastated by losing Juniper and the herd, Patchi becomes suicidal. Alex convinces Patchi to go back and help the herd fight against Gorgon if he is willing to die. Patchi must save the herd from Gorgon and become the leader of the herd once and for all.
Best part of story, including ending:
What I liked about this story was that Patchi showed that he had a lot of strengths. Even though he was the smallest dinosaur in his family, he had the biggest heart.
Best scene in story:
The best scene was when Patchi saves everyone from Gorgon. This was great because Gorgon killed Patchi's father and Patchi finally got revenge.
Opinion about the main character:
What I liked about Patchi was his will to win back Juniper. Even when he was kicked out of the herd, he found a way to save everyone and win the heart of Juniper.
