Afraid of the consequences of this act, Dixon removes Payne's body from his apartment, hoping that Scalise would be held responsible for his death.

Soon, Jiggs Taylor, Payne's father-in-law, is arrested. Dixon who's fallen in love with Morgan Taylor, Jigg's daughter, tries his best to help Morgan without attracting the attention of his colleagues. Tormented by guilt, the police detective doesn't know what to do.
