Best part of story, including ending: This is a great story because it is simple and sweet. The characters are lovable and easy to relate to.

Best scene in story: My favorite scene is when Lucy goes to the Callahan's house for a Christmas celebration. She loves being a part of their family and hearing them talk and carry on makes her feel loved and right at home.

'While You Were Sleeping' is the story of Lucy Moderatz, a lonely young woman who lives alone in a Chicago apartment with her cat, and spends her days (including holidays) working the token booth at a subway station. Her little world is turned upside down when she saves the life of one of her regular customers, Peter, (whom she has been admiring from afar) after he has been mugged and pushed onto the train tracks. The hospital staff and his eccentric family mistake her for his fiancee, which begins a humorous chain of events, during which Lucy finds unconditional friendship and a sense of belonging to a family--something she has been aching for, and which causes her to hesitate from telling them the truth of her identity. She also forges a friendship with Peter's brother, Jack. Jack and Lucy open each other's eyes to their need to let go of their fears and pursue their dreams...and (needless to say), they fall in love, which really adds a twist to the situation. Finally Lucy is able to overcome her fear, speak the truth, and pursue her dreams.

The only thing Lucy looks foward to doing, is selling the handsome and charming Peter Callaghan a token. One day Peter gets pushed onto the train tacks, after witnessing the mugging, Lucy courageously jumps onto the tracks, and leads them both to safety. A confused nurse informs Peter's family that Lucy is Peter's fiancee. The Callaghans immediately welcome Lucy into their family. Lucy was finally experiencing family life, so she didn't inform the Callaghans that she really was not Peter's fiancee. Not being able to tell Jack the truth, she is caught in trying to make a decision between Peter and Jack. This is a hilarous and sweet story of love triangles and true love.

Lucy has fallen in love with the handsome man she sees pass through her transit toll booth every day. She knows nothing about him except that he is gorgeous and has a great smile. One day, thugs knock him onto the train tracks and he loses consciousness. Lucy jumps on the tracks and saves him in the nick of time. Later, at the hospital, during the ensuing confusion, the victim's family is told Lucy is his fiance. Through a comedy of errors, the story is confirmed and the family falls in love with her--and she with them. Problem is, the handsome victim lays in a coma, while Lucy falls in love for real with his brother! Now, how does she tell them all, without breaking everyone's heart... especially her own?
