WOMAN ON TOP is a romantic comedy directed by Fina Torres in 2000.

Suffering from motion sickness from her childhood on, Penélope Cruz can control her disease only if she stays in command. So she drives, leads when dancing and is always on top during intimate moments. In compensation, Yemanja, the Goddess of the Sea, has given her a unique gift, the ability to cook wonderful meals filled with passion. Her macho husband Toninho must also compensate his frustration as a husband and is caught by Penelope while cheating on her. She leaves Brazil and is hired by a San Francisco TV channel to present a culinary show. But Toninho has followed her and is harassing Penelope who will ask Yemanja to free her from him.
