In the early 1900's a reporter met with a man claiming to be Billy the Kid. "Billy" attempted to prove to the reporter, based on stories most people did not remember, that he truly was Billy the Kid. This sequel picks up several years after the first movie, which would also be several years after Billy the Kid's death. It weaves the story told by the man who claimed to be the real "Billy the Kid", and the life he supposedly lived after his escape from Pat Garrett.
