Takeshi stars as the main character, Zatoichi, a blind unassuming masseur who in reality is the famous undefeatable swordsman known throughout the country.

In this movie, Takeshi wanders into a town ruled by rival gangs. Because of this, the citizens of that town are constantly under watch and often violently beaten. Because of Zatoichi's unwavering sense of rights, he decides to help them.

ZATOICHI is a film written and directed by Takeshi Kitano in 2003. It earned four major prizes at the 2003 Venice Film festival.
Zatoichi is a traveling masseur. He's blind but is nonetheless a master in sword fighting. One day, he arrives in a small town ruled by different bunches of criminals. Zatoichi will stand up for the poor farmers and slaughter all the bad guys who dare to confront him.
