Derek Zoolander is gorgeous, extremely stupid, self-obsessed and three-time Male Model of the Year. Derek decides to go out and discover if there's more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good-looking. He takes a trip back home to the coal mines, and when that doesn't work, decides to found "The Derek Zoolander Centre for Kids Who Can't Read Good (And Want To Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too)". Only problem is, he doesn't have the funds. Then Mugatu - the only major designer who's never hired Derek - hires him for his "Derelicte" campaign. There's just one problem - Mugatu also needs someone to kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia, who is raising wages where the fashion world makes most of its clothes. And Derek's been brainwashed to do it.
This funny but stupid film parodies the fashion world.

This is a wacky comedy that parodies the New York high fashion male modeling industry.
It starts as a competition between the top two male models, Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) the three time male model of the year and Hansel (Owen Wilson), an up and coming model who wins the title in the current year thereby preventing Derek from being top male model four years in a row. Both of them are totally obsessed with their looks and are clueless as to the world outside of modeling.
Meanwhile the evil fashion designer, Jacobim Magatu (Will Farrell), is feeling threatened by the plans of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to outlaw child labor in that country. To protect his profits and keep child labor legal in Malaysia, Magatu attempts to program Derek to assassinate the Prime Minister. But Time Magazine reporter Matilda (Christine Taylor), who has written an article about Derek, gets wind of the plot and convinces Derek and Hansel to try to thwart it. Their efforts to thwart the plot and expose Magatu's evil plan are hilarious but ultimately successful.

This film is all about Derek Zoolander played by Ben Stiller who is the world's best supermodel. That is until a new younger model called Hansal (Wilson) provides him some competition.
Meanwhile Malasia which creates the most profitable fashion, because its produced in sweatshops elects a new Prime Minister. This new all-loving Prime Minister plans to put an end to these sweatshops. This is not good news for evil designer Mugatu(Ferrell) who plans to brainwash someone to kill the Prime Minister and then dispose of themselves. However he needs someone dumb enough for an empty head...
Mugatu finds Derek at his lowest having lost an award to Hansal and recruits him. However Derek's love interest, (Taylor) uses her journalist skills and uncovers Mugatu's plan with the help of an unemployed hand model(Duchovny).
Will they help stop Derek from his programmed mission, will he beat Hansal to the best supermodel? Will Derek ever open his institue for kids who can't read good but wanna do other stuff good too?
An hilarious film with great performances by all. Stiller is funny and sweet as the dumb but sensitive Zoolander. Duchovny is great as the conspiracy theorist convinced they're out to get him- hamming up his X-File role! The soundtrack is the best and watch out for cameo appearances by Billy Zane and David Bowie and many more.

He finds dimwit male modol Derek Zoolander, depressed that he lost his fourth consecutive fashon award to new sensation Hansal (Wilson). An intreped journalist (Taylor) soon stumbles on to Mugatu's plan with the help of an out of work watch modol and consperacy theorist (Duchovney). Hilarious.
