While wandering through an abandoned construction site, five kids encounter a dying alien who warns them of evil mind-controlling parasites that are slowly taking over their planet. To help the kids fight the invaders, the alien gives them the power to transform into any animal they touch. Now Jake, Rachel, Marco, Tobias, and Cassie must use their new abilities to find the Yeerks and save the Earth -- or die trying.

Imagine your friends and family being taken over, one by one, by invisible, unseen enemies. Imagine the only thing standing between the enslavement of planet earth and the rest of the galaxy is a bunch of Earth kids and one alien, with only the power to shapeshift, to turn into anouther being by will. Well, its true, and its happening. Earth is being taken over by parasitic alien slugs called yeerks. Aliens who crawl into the minds of beings all over the galaxy and take complete control over them. Only a handful of kids know of the secret invasion, and their only weapon is the power to morph into any animal they can touch. Earth animals against the monsters and masterminds of the galaxy... can you make the change?
