While Biron is in Rhodia, he teams up with a woman named Artemisia. They travel to a country named Lingane, which is at peace with the Tyranni. While they are in Lingane, they meet a man named Autarch because he has information about the rebellion against the Tyranni. The three of them go to the solar system of Nebula. Autarch believes that the Nebula is the best place for the rebellion to exist.

Biron steals a Tyranni spaceship and lands on a planet in Nebula. There are no people around. However, the Autarch claims that this planet belongs to the rebellion.

Biron suddenly accuses Autarch of arranging Biron's fathers death. Autarch admits that he had Biron's father killed. The reason was because Biron's father was gaining too much fame. Biron and Autarch begin fighting. Biron gains help from Autarch's sidekick. Autarch's sidekick turns on Autarch because he respected Biron's father. Biron and Autarch's sidekick eventually defeat Autarch.

Biron tries to explain to the rest of the rebellion that Autarch has done evil. While this is happening, the Tryanni captures Biron and his rebellion and takes them as hostages. The Tryanni conducts an interrogation on Biron. They want Biron to reveal the location of the rebellion base. Autarch gives out the location of the rebel base and is killed his sidekick.

The Tryanni follows the directions of Autarch, however there is no one on the location which he revealed. The Tryanni releases Biron and his friends, because they believe there is no rebellion. In the end, it is clear that there is a rebellion forming inside of Rhodia.
Best part of story, including ending: What I liked about this story was that the people teamed up to defeat an evil enterprise. It is entertaining when good people come together to defeat evil. It's a good thing when a rebellion is started against wrong doing.

Best scene in story: My favorite part of the book was when Autarch and Biron fight. This was very suspenseful because they were supposed to be friends, but they turned on each other. It was a big twist that Autarch had Biron's father killed.

Opinion about the main character: What I liked about Biron was that he was honorable in defending his father's death. He set out to find the people that killed his father. The fact that he wanted to start a rebellion for his father's death showed what kind of courage he had.

When student Biron Farrill narrowly survives an attempt on his life, enigmatic Sander Jonti urges him to leave Earth for Rhodia under an assumed identity. During the journey Biron realizes he has been betrayed to the Tyranni, a short, ugly race which has subjugated the known galaxy. Released from custody in the hope that he will lead them (the Tyranni authorities) to a conspiracy, Biron does indeed meet conspirators, in the shape of Artemisia, the voluptuous daughter of the Director of Rhodia, and Gillbret, her effeminate uncle. Fleeing Rhodia in a stolen spaceship, the trio head for Lingane, where Gillbret believes the Autarch heads a conspiracy against the Tyranni. Could an unidentified planet and a document from ancient Earth hold the key to freedom for the galaxy?
