Based on the epic poem 'The Iliad' by Homer, the movie 'Troy' is one of the tragic histories of mankind. It is the legend of the Trojan War. The fortress city of Troy is attacked by a heavy Greek army led by Menelaus of Sparta and Agamemnon of Mycenae. The war has become necessary because of the young Trojan prince Paris (Orlando Bloom), seduces the Sparta's queen, Helen (Diane Kruger). In this Greek army Achilles (Brad Pitt)only join the war for his country, not for the kings revenge. He eventually fell in love with a cousin sister of Hector (Eric Bana). There is an epic duel battle between Hector and Achilles after Achilles's cousin brother killed by Hector in a battle unfortunately. Achilles killed Hector in there duel fight. At the end of the movie, when Troy was on fire, Achilles tried to find his loved one and Paris killed him with his bow and arrow. A true tragic history every human must know.

Best part of story, including ending:
I like the story because of the true love of Achilles for his country. On the other hand, I disappointed for Helen's action. She caused a wealthy city to being destroyed.

The epic duel fight between Hector and Achilles is my eye catching and heart touching scene in this movie.
Directed by Wolfgang Peterson, the movie Troy is based on an adaptation of Homer's great epic The Iliad. This movie re-enacts the legend of the Trojan War in 1193 B.C. Paris (Orlando Bloom), the young prince of Troy, eloped with Helen (Diane Kruger), the Queen of Sparta, after a mission to sign a peace treaty with Menelaus (Brendan Gleeson), the King, with the elder Trojan prince Hector (Eric Bana). This angered Menelaus, and he appealed to his elder brother, the Greek High King Agamemnon (Brian Cox) to lead their troops to Troy. Agamemnon used his brother's reason to attack Troy, but he had other plans. His main motive was, of course, to conquer Troy, the biggest threat to his vast empire. To acquire larger odds of winning the war, Agamemnon implored Achilles (Brad Pitt), who was known as the greatest warrior in his time. He agreed, for he was after the glory, where his name and achievements would be recorded down in history for the world to remember him as the greatest warrior in the existing world. In the war, Achilles was the main representative for Greece (or rather, for himself) and Hector for the civilians of Troy.

A Prince from Troy falls in love with Helen of Sparta. They escape and head back to Troy. Helen's husband is very mad, so he gathers an army including the great Achilles. They head to Troy and begin a long battle. The Greeks then try to breach the walls of Troy.

In this story, nearly 3200 years old, two nations are driven to war over the love of a woman. Helen, Queen of Sparta, was taken from her husband Menelaus, by Paris the Prince of Troy. This event set off a war that would result in a decade long siege of Troy, in an attempt to get Helen back. Achilles, the greatest warrior hero of the Greeks, and Hector, son of the King, personified the strong will of the people of Troy. Of course the epic siege is a big part of the story, but the myriad of interpersonal stories is the real driving force of this movie.

After the Trojans sack the Greek city of Sparta, the Trojan Prince Paris (Bloom) falls in love with the Queen of Sparta. He takes her back to Troy away from her husband Menelaus. Menelaus is the brother of the leader of the Greek city-states Agamemnon who uses the insult to his brother as an affront to attack the Trojans. With Achilles in his army, Agamemnon is certain he can't fail to sack the city of Troy but his greed and pride eventually anger Achilles so he won't fight. However, Achilles' cousin is killed in battle by the Trojan Prince Hector(Bana). Achilles vows vengeance and a heated battle ensues between them.
The Greeks are unable to penetrate the city walls of Troy but they put a few of their best warriors in a giant wooden horse and trick the Trojans into bringing it inside their walls. They open the gates and lead the Greek army which then burns the city to the ground.
