Llewyn Davis is a struggling folk musician trying to make a living in NYC. He apartment hops from friend to friend and has a sort of girlfriend who is pregnant and also with another man. His relationships with people are distant and he is very cynical of the world around him. He gets an opportunity to go to Chicago and perform for a recording agency, but the man does not like his music. Instead he is forced back to NYC, guitar in hand, to play at the same bar he has been playing at for several years.

Best part of story, including ending:
This is a beautiful story of personal struggle and an effort to rise to the top at any costs. It is a sad story and deeply personal.
Best scene in story:
My favorite scene is where he is smoking a cigarette in his friend's apartment and he has the window open and their cat jumps right out of it into the alley. He is then forced to chase the cat but has lost it.
