Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The Counselor

The Counselor begins flying to Europe to pick out a rare and expensive diamond ring for his girlfriend Laura. Upon his arrival, he proposes to her, and she says yes. Upon returning, he talks with a criminal friend of his, Reiner, who laments that The Counselor could be using his connections and his status to be a player in the drug game and make far more money than he's doing even now. They set up a meeting with Westray, who details a drug deal, but warns The Counselor that Mexican cartels are wildly dangerous and should be avoided if at all possible. The Counselor appreciates his advice but still insists upon going ahead with their plan. However, sure enough, the deal immediately goes awry as a delivery man is cut off with a key component by opposing factions, and the drugs are stolen. Since the delivery man was a client of The Counselor, the cartel immediately pins the disappearance of the drugs onto him in the process. The Counselor immediately tries to seek for assistance from everyone involved, but they all begin cutting ties with him, informing him that his fate is sealed. It's a race against time as The Counselor tries to track down his wife-to-be and get them somehow to safety before it's too late.
