De Niro and Travolta pair up as actors for the first time in this movie. The setting is in the backwoods of Appalachia, where the two men encounter one another for what at first feels like a friendship then rapidly deteriorates into antagonism when they discover the truth about each other's past. This is not the first time they have fought against each other. Both have a history of fighting on the opposite side of the war in Eastern Europe only to escape death and find themselves confronted in a very personal way the United States, when they are both attempting to start their lives over.

Circumstances have brought them back together again, to face each other in a fight to the death whether they like it or not. Past feelings resurface, old training kicks in, and they hunt each other in the woods with the sole intent to kill each other, not even really noticing the reasons and the motivation behind what they are doing.
Best part of story, including ending:
The premise of the movie is interesting, but the execution of the film is lacking. Travolta looks ridiculous in his makeup for the role he plays and his accent is not credible.
Best scene in story:
When the two antagonists discover their past and realize that there is no way they can continue to be friends.
Opinion about the main character:
The premise of the story is good. The hunt is good. De Niro does a decent job, but Travolta looks like an idiot which ruins the film.
