Amy offers Jed her home to recuperate from his injuries but Jed is awakened in the night hearing Amy's terrified screams. He comes to know that Amy is haunted by daily nightmares ever since her 'friend' died in an accident at her parents' home on Orleana Island eight months ago.

Both Amy and Jed know very few things about each other apart from the obvious, but still they decide to take their platonic relationship into the next level.

Amy's parents urge her to visit them at the island and she takes along Jed for moral support. Amy confides in Jed that her friend LePage was actually a paid mercenary who had tried to kill her and he had drowned in the water while trying to retrieve a box hidden in the water caves on the island. On realizing that the box held terrible secrets that might destroy her family's peace, Amy hid it again inside the caves.

Jed realizes that Amy's nightmares have been triggered by this incident and resolves to finish it for once and for all to free her from its trap.

Amy suspects that Jed is not an ordinary engineer as he had claimed earlier and her suspicions come true when Jed tells her the truth.

But it seems that someone else also wants the contents of the box and will stop at nothing to get it.

Best part of story, including ending: I loved this story for the extremely witty repartee between the two main characters. Jed keeps on teasing Amy for 'fussing' over him like a woman and she gets irritated every time. It was so cute!

Best scene in story: I loved the scene where Amy comes to the airport to bid goodbye to Jed and he does not want to leave her. He feels irritated that she is not upset over him going off and wants her to 'fuss' over him. A few minutes before he boards his plane, Amy tells Jed that he is upset because he is in love with her and Jed is stunned!

Opinion about the main character: Amy is innocent in some ways, but strong, loyal and trustworthy when it comes to people she loves. She is willing to risk even her life if it will help in ensuring her family's peace and happiness.
