Jon has a mantra that he repeats, containing the only things he cares about: "My body, my pad, my ride, my family, my church, my boys, my girls, my porn." He frequently hits clubs and takes home women, but as he confesses directly to the camera, he finds that he prefers porn to actual sex for a variety of reasons. One night out, he meets Barbara Sugarman, who, in a shocking turn of events for Jon, refuses to go home with him. He stalks her down and begins courting her, doing the usual romantic approach: dates, romantic movie nights, meeting the family, and so forth. However, when she discovers him watching porn late one night, she makes him swear to never watch porn again; it's either her or porn. Outwardly, he chooses her, but he begins sneaking his porn around and watching it in secret. He begins taking classes, at Barbara's urging to get a degree, and he meets Esther, an older woman who thinks porn is totally normal, but also knows a thing or two about actual sexual relationships. They begin to grow close and get to the heart of why Jon is disinterested in sex compared to porn. Meanwhile, Barbara grows more and more domineering over his life, and when she finally discovers Jon with his secret porn, he is forced to decide: does he fight to try to win her back, or has he changed to the point where she's not what he wants anymore?
