Tim Conrad is a business executive who convinces a businessman named Martin Mueller to become his client. Martin invites Tim over for dinner in which Tim must bring a talented guest. Tim finds out that the dinner is to see who the biggest loser is out of the guests that the workers bring. The next day, Tim gets into a car accident with Barry Speck. While helping Barry, Tim realizes that Barry is the perfect guest for the dinner. Barry jeopardizes Tim's relationship by giving Tim's stalker Darla his address. Barry tries to make up for it by sending Darla away, but accidentally send away Julie giving her the impression that Tim is cheating. Tim gets a phone call from Julie, but cannot answer because Darla takes the phone from him. Tim runs away and tries to get in contact with Julie. Barry finds a message on Julie's cellphone which reveals that Julie is going to her co-worker Vollard's house. Vollard tries to seduce Julie. Julie reveals to Tim that she is going to San Francisco with Vollard. Tim must win back Julie from Vollard. The dinner for losers arrives, and Barry must stand up for himself in front of Martin Mueller.

Best part of story, including ending: What I liked about this story is that the people who were considered dumb showed that they were smart.

Best scene in story: My favorite scene was when the so-called schmucks stood up for themselves.

Opinion about the main character: What I disliked about Tim was that he participated in the dinner.
