Actors: Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The Devil Wears Prada

Andy (Anne Hathaway) wants to be taken seriously as a journalist. When she can't get a job at a news magazine, she settles for a job at a fashion magazine as an assistant to New York's most respected and feared magazine editor, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). Having no fashion sense whatsoever, Andy is a fish out of water. She thinks fashion is shallow and is merely a stepping stone to a better job. However, she is proven wrong when she starts enjoying the glamour and fun of working there even when being constantly tormented by Miranda and her asinine requests. She finds a confidant and friend in Nigel (Stanley Tucci), a fashion editor, who makes her over and transforms her into a suave fashionista. In the end, Andy proves her mettle and Miranda recognizes her talent, giving her a stellar recommendation to her dream publication.

Best part of story, including ending: I liked the fashion aspect of the movie, and learned that a lot of finite details go into publishing a magazine.

Best scene in story: When Andy and Nigel invaded the magazine's fashion vault and tried out a lot of designer labels.

Opinion about the main character: I liked how true to herself she was, and although she was enjoying her current job, she still had her eye on her ultimate dream job.
