Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Eat Pray Love

Liz (Julia Roberts) is in pieces after a divorce. She suffers depression and a breakdown and goes on a worldwide excursion to reflect. First she goes to Italy where she experiences a rebirth of senses and pleasure, she enjoys the gustatory delights of the country and the thrill of new and soon-to-be cherished friends. Next she goes on a spiritual journey to an ashram in India. In the company of other foreigners, she befriends Richard, an older guy who teaches her about his life lessons. Finally she goes to Bali, where she meets Ketut, a village fortune teller who gives her sage advice on love. Unexpectedly, she finds it in the person of Felipe, a Latin American expat living there. Her soul searching comes to a close, as she discovers healing, precious connections, and a reinvigorated thirst for life.

Best part of story, including ending: It is an eventful and somewhat idealistic account of a person's quest to find herself.

Best scene in story: When Liz went all over Italy, gorging on sumptuous pasta dishes amidst the laidback Italian vibe.

Opinion about the main character: Liz wants to have her cake and eat it too. She feels too entitled at times which borders on annoying.
