Due to the fact her long time boyfriend hasn't proposed to her, Anna Brady (Amy Adams) travels to Ireland. She does this because according to an Irish tradition, if a man is proposed to on February 29, he must accept. A storm causes her plane to land in Cardiff, Wales, so she sets out to continue her mission to get to Ireland. Eventually she runs into a gut Declan O'Callaghan (Matthew Goode) who agrees to drive her for €500, as he needs the money to save his pub, which is facing foreclosure.

Their trip does not go smoothly as they run into cows and thieves who attempt to rob Anna. Despite this they reach the train station, but it's too late. They are forced to stay at a bed and breakfast because of this and have to take a bus to Ireland, and they arrive the following day. Declan then confides in Anna that he was once engaged but his fiancé ran off with his best friend, and Anna's boyfriend finally proposes to her - and she accepts. But that isn't the end of the story.
Best part of story, including ending:
Didn't really like the story as it was generic. Anna meets a guy inadvertently, does not like him, but the end up getting together.
Best scene in story:
At the bed and breakfast when Anna and Declan are asked for their married name and how it relates to the ending.
Opinion about the main character:
She was too high maintenance with all her luggage and Louis Vuitton bag.
