In this animation film, the boogeyman, Pitch (with the voice of Jude Law) wants to destroy childhood using fear. They way he can achieve this, is to get all the children in the world to stop believing in the Guardians which are the group of protectors including Santa Claus (with the voice of Alec Baldwin), the Easter Bunny (with the voice of Hugh Jackman), the Tooth Fairy (with the voice of Isla Fisher), and Sandman who never speaks.

Santa Claus who also calls himself North, finds out about the plot from Man in the Moon who also tells him to make Jack Frost (with the voice of Chris Pine) a Guardian. Santa calls all the other Guardians plus Jack to the North Pole to warn them of the danger and to get them to help him defeat Pitch. Santa asks Jack to join them, but Jack doesn't want to, because not even one child believes in Jack which has made him turn invisible. Santa convinces Jack to help anyway.

Pitch has attacked the Tooth Fairy's castle while she was away. The Guardians find out that Pitch has stolen all the kid's teeth which contain all their memories. Pitch has taken all the small little tooth fairies captive as well, except for one, Baby Tooth, that is saved. The Tooth Fairy starts to immediately lose strength because all the children stop believing in her, so the Guardians help her collect the teeth that she would normally collect, and while doing so, are seen by one little boy, Jamie, who believes in all of them except for Jack Frost.

Next Pitch takes out Sandman. The Guardians try to help the Easter Bunny and are seen by Jamie's little sister Sophie. Jack discovers the door to Pitch's lair and when he enters it, Pitch tries to convince Jack to join him instead of the Guardians. But Jack refuses and this infuriates Pitch who smashes all the Easter eggs causing the children to stop believing in the Easter Bunny. Jack is almost defeated by Pitch after that.

Jamie holds on to his belief in the Guardians. When Jack learns that he saved his sister from dying in the ice and that is why he became Jack Frost, he regains his courage. The Guardians help Jamie to believe in Jack. When he does he can see Jack who becomes visible. As the children restore their faith in the Guardians. Sandman rejoins them. The final battle begins.
Best part of story, including ending: It is fun to see a fairy tale that includes all these fantasy characters interacting with each other in new ways.

Best scene in story: When Jack is knocked down by Pitch and his magical staff is broken. All seems lost until his childhood memories are restored. It is uplifting to see him regain his courage.

Opinion about the main character: Jack is a bit hard on himself until he finds out his true nature, and learns his history, then he shines.
