Randy "The Ram" Robinson was a huge professional wrestler in the 80's. These days he is old, working in a grocery store, and does small fights just to get by. He misses rent, endures excruciating fights, and is addicted to steroids. He lives a pathetic existence, but the opportunity of a lifetime comes in the form of a big commemorative fight against his arch nemesis Ayatollah, and he thinks things might actually turn out good for him for a change. After one brutal fight however, Randy is seriously injured, after being evaluated by doctors, he is told that he had a heart attack, and that if he continues straining himself and doing drugs, he can die at any moment. Randy stops fighting temporarily, and spends time with a stripper, Cassidy, and they bond. Cassidy urges him to reconnect with his estranged daughter Stephanie. He heeds her advice, Stephanie wants nothing to do with him at first but later warms up to him. Randy also begins working more days at the grocery and enjoys it. After a fight with Cassidy, he has a wild night of drugs and sex, and misses a date with his daughter. When he apologizes to Stephanie, she tells him to never see her again. Stressed, he is at work at the grocery and snaps at his boss and a customer, and quits. With things unravelling, he wants more than ever to do the Ayatollah fight. At the fight, Randy works extra hard for his heart to give out. Cassidy is at the arena watching anxiously, whereas Ayatollah, taking pity on Randy tries to stop the fight. Without anything to live for, Randy is determined to end it. Exhausted, he does his signature move... and the movie ends.

This is a heartbreaking story of someone's fall from grace.

The final fight, and Randy is just so tired, so full of anguish, you wonder if there really is no hope for him at all.
Opinion about the main character:
He is broken and it's gut wrenching that you see him try to be better, but he cannot really change some circumstances.
