Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Ferngully

Crysta and he fairy-folk live in relative harmony in a giant rain-forest. The name of their little settlement within the forest is named Ferngully. However, there are thing that the magical little beings have to watch out for namely Hexxus. Hexxus is a toxic spirt that feeds off of pollution and destruction but long before Crysta was born Hexxus was sealed away within a seed of a Baobab tree. And that tree resides in the forest and serves as a warning and a reminder to all who live in Ferngully of the destructive spirit that lies within.

One day while Crysta is flying around the rain-forest with her friend Batty(a bat who has had many experiments done on him) she spots something odd, a human. Specifically, a lumber jack, whose name is Zak. Zak is cutting down trees in the forest one day when he is almost killed by a falling tree. Crysta saves him by shrinking him to the point where he has to watch out or he could become a snack for a hungry iguana.

The three venture off into the forest and Zak gets to see and understand the vibrant life that he and his fellow humans are destroying and he has a suddne change of conscience . However, all is not well and Zak's co-workers find the legendary baobab tree and cut it down releasing Hexxus from his imprisonment. It will be up to Crysta Zak and all of the inhabitants of Ferngully to take down the toxic threat known as Hexxus or face destruction
Best part of story, including ending: It is a nice way to introduce children to environmental and ecological issues.

Best scene in story: I enjoyed a scene where Hexxus sings a song called Toxic Love. You get to see the sinister nature of the creature that up until this point of the movie is merely hinted at.

Opinion about the main character: Crysta really grows in terms of understanding her roles as caretaker of the forest. In the beginning of the film Crysta comes off as carefree and dismissive of her responsibilities but as the film goes on she begins to understand her role as a fairy and how important it is to maintain the place she calls home.
