Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Red (2010)

Frank Moses is happily retired. He collects government pension checks from his former employers at the CIA, and he occasionally talks to Sarah, a nice customer service agent who humors him and engages him in conversation. One day, a hit squad comes to try to take Frank out, unaware of how dangerous a killing machine he is. He takes them out, then realizes that Sarah is in danger because they know that he cares about her. She is unwilling to run away with him, but as killers arrive to her home, Frank kidnaps her and escapes. Frank travels to go see his old mentor Joe, and they discover that the same people who tried to kill him knocked off a reporter for the Times. They search for clues the reporter left, and they find a list of people that will eventually be targeted by this mysterious force. Among the names on the list is another former black-op, Marvin Boggs, who tells them that the names all have in common a Guatemalan mission, a simple extraction job that is apparently more than meets the eye. The only way to find out who was extracted is to break into CIA headquarters and find the case file. They do so, and along the way enlist help from an old Russian enemy and get into a fight with a young agent, Cooper, who is tasked with killing them all on sight. They are led to discover the truth about the extraction: they removed the now-Vice President after he murdered an entire village. The only way to stop them from getting killed is to expose the truth before the hit squad catches up to them.

Best part of story, including ending: It's a fun and violent romp, with plenty of awesome gun fights, one-liners , and veteran actors having a great time hamming it up with one another.

Best scene in story: The fight between Frank Moses and Agent Cooper in Agent Cooper's office in the CIA Headquarters is incredibly awesome, with lots of punching, shooting, and general destruction of property.

Opinion about the main character: Frank Moses doesn't really want to kill anymore, but he's forced to in order to protect himself and the woman he loves, which makes him noble. Plus, it's Bruce Willis, one of the last great Hollywood action stars.
