Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Tarzan (1999)

Tarzan is the name given by a troop of gorillas to a young baby when it is found by Kala, a gorilla mother who lost her baby to a leopard. Tarzan and his parents were marooned on the island jungle, and his parents too were killed by the leopard. Kala adopts Tarzan as her own much to the dislike of her mate Kerchak, the leader of the clan. As Tarzan grows older, he becomes ape-like and agile, but the troop still doesn't recognize him as one of them. Tarzan always has to prove himself to the others, but Kerchak is never proud of him. One day, a team of explorers arrive, Porter, his daughter Jane, and Clayton, who is really some sort of animal trapper. When Jane is chased by wild baboons, Tarzan saves her. Jane is astounded by Tarzan since he was raised by apes. Tarzan is fascinated as well, learning that there are others like him. Tarzan and Jane spend time with each other, learning each other's habits, without the gorilla troop knowing. Kerchak doesn't like the humans and discourages Tarzan of any contact. When Jane tells Tarzan to come with them to England, he agrees. But on the ship, they are subdued by Clayton's men. They escape to warn the other gorillas, who are now being rounded up. Tarzan comes to the rescue and fights Clayton, only Kerchak is shot in the exchange. Kerchak acknowledges Tarzan as his son and asks him to lead the troop from now on. Tarzan decides to stay, as Jane sails away, she realizes that her place is with Tarzan. She and her dad stay behind, and live together with the ape family.

Best part of story, including ending: I love the songs which go so well with the scenes.

Best scene in story: When Tarzan mimics Jane, and acts human.

Opinion about the main character: Tarzan is a lost soul who just wants to fit in, he stumbles in the beginning but shines in the end.
