This is what happens when a young man from the ghetto wins the lottery. Kevin Carson is the main character (played by Bow Wow). He works as a shoe salesman at an athletic shoe store. A gang-banger named Lorenzo (played by Gbenga Akinnagbe) tries to force him to steal sneakers from the store where Kevin works. But instead, Kevin tells the boss and Lorenzo gets arrested. But Kevin also loses his job. His girlfriend buys him a fortune cookie to cheer him up. It has lucky numbers in it. Kevin uses the numbers for the lottery. He wins $370 million. The only one he tells is his grandma. He swears her to secrecy. She blabs the news anyway and the whole neighborhood finds out. It is Fourth of July weekend so Kevin cannot get any money until the office opens after the holiday weekend is over. He decides to borrow $100,000 from the mob so they can party while they wait for the office to open. The mobster sends his bodyguard as a driver along with Kevin to watch him to make sure he gets paid back after Kevin collects the money.

Kevin befriends an ex-boxer, Mr. Washington (played by Ice Cube) who tells him that money he won before ruined his life. Lorenzo comes looking for Kevin because of the incident with the shoes and also because he heard that Kevin has the winning lottery ticket. Lorenzo attacks Kevin, steals the ticket. The mobster finds out about Kevin losing the ticket, so he also comes after him to see what is going on. Kevin and his buddy go looking for Lorenzo. They find Lorenzo again, just as the mobster finds them as well. They all fight. Mr. Washington shows up at the opportune moment, knocks Lorenzo out with one punch, so Kevin can get his ticket back. Kevin turns in the winning ticket, gets the money and uses it to improve the neighborhood with the help of all the people who helped him.
Best part of story, including ending:
It is a fun fantasy about winning the lotto with very interesting characters.
Best scene in story:
When the woman tries to seduce Kevin and have sex with him without a condom, so she can be his “baby-mama” in order to get some of the lottery money, it is really a good laugh.
Opinion about the main character:
If Kevin had any sense at all, he should have just kept quiet when he won the lottery, until the office was open, and he was able to collect. Of course it is more fun when he makes the entire neighborhood go crazy.
