Sydney White Movie Review Summary

Actors: Amanda Bynes, Sara Paxton

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Sydney White

Sydney wants to pledge at the sorority that her mom attended. Standing in her way is the sorority president Rachel who is overbearing, vain, and just plain mean. She thinks Sydney isn't Kappa material and one day bans her from joining the sorority by saying that she broke the rules. Rachel also hates Sydney because of her on and off again boyfriend's (Tyler) interest in her. Sydney ends up staying with the college outcasts, 7 misfits each with their own problems and insecurities. Sydney gives each one tips, and slowly they start coming out of their shell. Rachel is also bent on demolishing the 7 misfits' house for a university project, so Sydney goes against her by running for student council president. Sydney and Tyler get close, while Rachel continues to sabotage Sydney in every way. Sick of her tyranny, Sydney makes a moving speech about rising from oppression and embracing diversity which wins the student body over. She wins the election. Rachel, whose underlings despise her, kick her out of the sorority, and Sydney and the rest of the 7 misfits finally rise from their underdog status.

Best part of story, including ending: It's fun to watch the nerds get payback from the mean kids.

Best scene in story: Sydney's speech, proving she has come into her own.

Opinion about the main character: I think that if Sydney is portrayed as a "rebel," it creates a conflict in the movie when she wants to become part of a sorority.
