After Thomas Zelda (Tim Allen) gets home after he gets out of prison (he was there for movie piracy), his old movie piracy partner Gray (Ray Liotta) shows up and Thomas' sisters wards him off. The following day, he meets with his parole officer who then has him work for Pirate Burger. While working there, his girlfriend who he thought was dead, comes to see him.

Later he takes the delivery car to see her and he gets fired which could end him up in jail. The same night he is kidnapped by his old partner who tries to get him back into the piracy crimes. He really doesn't want to because he wants to stay out of prison. Tommy is sent to a lady, Angela's apartment where her son tries to get them together. When she is gone, Tommy breaks in and repaints. When she returns Tommy and Angela show feelings for each other at her son's baseball game.

Meanwhile, the Pirate Burger pressed charges on Tommy for taking the delivery car and he goes back to jail. However, his old partner Gray gets him out and then he teams back up with him. When Angela's son comes over wanting to see Tommy, Tommy's sister finds him and tells him Angela's son is gone. Tommy ditches Gray to look for Angela's son. However, he goes to Angela's home and realizes his sister lied and her son wasn't missing. His care for her son makes her realize he is nicer than he may seem.
Best part of story, including ending: I really like this story because there are so many scenes and the story really is all over the place. It may be hard to follow at times but it is a great story line.

Best scene in story: My favorite scene is when Tommy's sister finds him at the airport to tell him that Angela's son is gone missing. This is my favorite because it shows that Tommy really is a caring person.

Opinion about the main character: I really like that Tommy tried very hard to stay out of the piracy business after he got out of prison. He also continued to stay with his sister even though he knows she lies a lot.
