The story involves two married strangers who commute on the same train to New York. Meanwhile, there is an instant attraction between Molly and Frank but neither of them are in the mindset of having an affair.

Molly is a lovely housewife and graphic artist who resides in upstate New York and is married to a wealthy doctor. Frank is also a married man with two children and is an architect.
After running into each other while shopping on Christmas day they happen to get their holiday packages mixed up. Months later, they take the same train into New York City and run into each other once again. Conversation starts to blossom and as they keep running into each other, they share longer conversations. Knowing that what is happening is wrong they can't help but to fall in love.
Both of their marriages are too late to save now and even though Molly and Frank remain platonic through their affair, they confess their betrayal's to their spouses.

What I enjoyed about the story is the genuine chemistry between the two and the undeniable charisma. The story is also relatable.
Best scene in story:
One of my favorite scenes is when Frank asks Molly, "How much do you weigh?" because he was nervous and didn't know what else to say to spark a conversation.
Opinion about the main character:
What I liked about the main characters are how they are both reserved and quite shy. They respect the contract of marriage but happen to not be able to resist the chemistry between them and how something keeps bringing them together.
