The Simpson family is caught in a environmental disaster and Homer must save Springfield from destruction. This is the full length film based on The Simpsons, the TV series. Eager to get some free donuts, Homer dumps a tank full of pig waste into Springfield's lake. This causes a massive pollution catastrophe, prompting President Arnold Schwarzenegger to encase the whole of Springfield in a giant glass dome. When the townsfolk discover whose fault it is, Homer and the family make a run for it.

Homer is not worried though, he decides to move the Simpsons to Alaska. When Marge and the kids discover that Springfield will eventually be blown up to make a tourist attraction, they leave Homer in the frozen state and head back to their home to try and save it. On their way, they are captured by environmentalists and thrown back in the dome.

Homer, alone, is instructed by a mystic Alaskan woman to return to Springfield and save his family. He arrives just as a bomb is being lowered to the middle of the town. He gets into the dome and, with Bart and Marge's help, manages to save the town and shatter the glass dome in the process. In the end Homer has saved the day and the Simpsons are back together.
Best part of story, including ending: To be honest the main plot is not that impressive, more could have been done with the feature film running time. However, the movie is undeniably funny and the family doesn't disappoint.

Best scene in story: There are a lot of funny bits, but if I had to choose one, it would probably be "Spider Pig" and the accompanying song.

Opinion about the main character: What more can you say about Homer, he desperately wants to be right and doesn't think about consequences. But who cares, he's there when we need him to be and he loves his family.
