Never Seduce a Scot: The Montgomerys and Armstrongs Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Never Seduce a Scot: The Montgomerys and Armstrongs

A classic tale of an arranged marriage, and a love so strong that it changes the lives of everyone around them. Eveline Armstrong is a brave, yet shy, princess in the Scotland highlands. Suffering from deafness from an accident a few years earlier she uses her deafness to escape marriage from a wicked fiancé by pretending to be metal challenged when in actuality she reads lips and understands everything. A few years go by until the King of Scotland orders her marriage to Graeme Montgomery, king of a rival clan. As both families grudgingly do as the king bids Eveline jumps at the chance to hear her new husbands voice, a voice so deep that she can hear bits and pieces. Graeme, struck by her beauty and charm, is likewise fascinated by Eveline and he takes her back to his castle. As one can expect, Eveline is not welcomed into rival clan territory and seeks to prove herself to everyone by slowing shrugging off her mask of mental illness. She befriends Graeme's sister, proves herself to the castle staff, and eventually wins Graeme's love with her silent courage and strong spirit. However, not all are pleased with the growing love between two rival clans and wish to see those rivalries continue. Eveline's old suitor, from a different clan, creates a plan to kill Graeme and kidnap Eveline to ignite a war between to two strong families once more.

Best part of story, including ending: I really liked that subtle change from interest to love as well as the tender passion between characters.

Best scene in story: My favorite scene was when Eveline first directly talk to Graeme because it was the first moment we go to see her silent courage and spirit take shape.

Opinion about the main character: I really liked how Eveline did not let her disability hider determination to achieve her dreams and desires. I wish more books had female characters with her soft courage.
