Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Rachel Getting Married

A rehab patient goes home to her sister's wedding and faces the ghosts of her past behavior. Kym goes home for the weekend to attend her sister Rachel's wedding. She is currently in rehab for drug addiction but has been clean awhile. Her presence at the family home causes awkward tension between her, her family, and the guests since they know her history. Kym is also haunted by the death of her little brother, who died in a car accident while she was driving under the influence. Kym cannot help but feel that her family blames her for his death, thus all these bottled up emotions that are ready to explode. Her sister Rachel is starting to resent her too because she is stealing the limelight from the wedding. After fighting with Rachel and her dad, Kym goes to her mother's house and questions why she left her to care for her brother that night despite her addiction. Her mom refuses to admit any wrongdoing on her part, and hits Kym. Kym is so upset, she drives off the road. The next day, she comes home to Rachel who feels sorry for her and dresses her up for the wedding. They now have an unspoken reconciliation and Kym savors the rest of the event before heading back to rehab.

Best part of story, including ending: I like the sister relationship, it's rocky but has its tender moments.

Best scene in story: Kym's toast at the rehearsal dinner.

Opinion about the main character: Kym is just doing her best to survive the weekend but everything around her makes it impossible to do so.
