Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Passion

This is the story of an established executive who is willing to do whatever it takes to stay in power, until someone makes her pay for her wrongdoings. Christine, an obnoxious P.R. executive, loves to have control over all situations - including people. Christine's subordinate Isabelle is a neurotic, unstable woman addicted to prescription drugs and who is very eager to please Christine, while at the same time being incredibly jealous of what Christine has accomplished. Christine represents everything Isabelle wants: fashion, status, prestige, grace, money, and power. Even though Christine does not mind sleeping around whenever she decides to do so, she is nevertheless seriously involved with a man named Dirk and Isabelle starts sleeping with him, spending time in places where Christine has been and wearing her belongings as an attempt to feel as though Christine's life was hers. Isabelle's working relationship seemed promising at first, until Christine started taking credit for Isabelle's work - a major ad campaign which involves a big promotion in New York City. The company had decided not to move forward with the campaign at this point in time but nevertheless credited Christine for her creativity. Isabelle, trying to respect her boss, had attempted to shake the feelings of betrayal away, but eventually decided to take her fate in her own hands and uploaded her ad to YouTube and it became an instant sensation. Isabelle got the credit she deserved and was the one who was offered the position to New York.

After learning that her lover had been sleeping with Isabelle, in addition to learning that Isabelle had decided to go behind her back by uploading the video without her consent, Christine decides to seek revenge. She proceeds with embarrassing Isabelle in front of her colleagues when, for instance, Isabelle had a nervous breakdown in the underground parking lot and Christine had filmed the whole event; which she later showed the whole office. Her reputation being ruined and no longer being taken seriously, Isabelle decides to kill Christine and frame Dirk of her murder who was at Christine's place the night of the murder and who had left incredibly intoxicated. Christine had been very attached to a white scarf and so Isabelle places Christine's blood-stained scarf in Dirk's car, which the police found. Having been a suspect as well, as she had been close to Christine, Isabelle was initially also accused of the murder. She had initially confessed, but then changed her mind telling the police she had an alibi and Dirk had been found guilty considering the evidence in his car. What Isabelle is not aware of, however, is that her former secretary, Dani, is in love with her and has in her possession a video where you can see Isabelle going into Christine's house while holding a knife and wearing a mask; the night of the murder. The truth of the matter was Isabelle had been pretending to go crazy to successfully frame Kirk, which worked. Dani threatens Isabelle that she will send the video to the police, unless Isabelle starts a relationship with her. Isabelle, feeling trapped, agrees to be her lover. During the night, while Dani and Isabelle are both asleep, Isabelle has a dream that she strangles Dani and hides her body under her bed. She then dreams that Christine comes back from the dead to strangle Isabelle from behind with her blood-stained scarf. Isabelle then wakes up, thinking this was all a bad dream, but then realizes that Dani is indeed dead as she finds her body on the floor.
Best part of story, including ending: I love the movie. It is very realistic, the performances are good and you do wonder about the identity of the killer.

Best scene in story: When Dani shows Isabelle the video which serves as proof that she killed Christine. Up until that point, the viewer wonders who the real killer is and that is when it all makes sense: Isabelle had been as manipulative as Christine.

Opinion about the main character: Dislike: Christine thinks she will always get away with everything, by virtue of her status.
