Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Cold Comes the Night

Chloe, a motel owner finds herself crossing path with a french mobster's courier and a crooked cop. This story starts with an average day in Chloe's life. Chloe is a motel owner in a small town. She has a daughter, about whom the child protection service lady is bothering her. She gets a two weeks notice to move from the motel, or her daughter will be taken from her. Also she has a crooked cop friend, who is somehow entangled with prostitution, and the motel serves as a kind of brothel in this operation.

So, one evening a french mob delivery man with a questionable accent and eyesight problems travels through town, but his driver wants to have sex, so they stop at the motel, Chloe runs. The driver gets killed by a prostitute, so the delivery man gets stranded, and what's worse, the car he was traveling in gets towed away with the package inside.

The delivery man, called Topo, forces Chloe to help him. They find out that the package, which turns out to be money is taken from the car, and it was Chloe's cop friend, Billy was the one who took it. Chloe offers her help for half of the money. So the next day they go to get it back.

They catch Billy and they drive to his house, from where Chloe has to get the package out. She goes in, she finds it, and she takes a few bundles into her pocket. However Billy's wife is at home, and attacks her.

Meanwhile Topo and Billy enters the house, and Topo shoots Billy's wife despite his eyesight problem. Then Topo and Chloe handcuff Billy to a radiator, and leave. They get back to the motel, where Topo's new driver is waiting for them. Chloe is left behind, so she calls the police. While talking to Billy's boss, she learnes that Billy is nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile Topo meets with the french mobster, his boss, who upon receiving the package accuses him of stealing from the mob. Shootout ensues in a closed car, and the mobsters end up dead. Topo goes back to Chloe, to give her the half of the money they agreed on.

But, while Topo was away she decided that she'll use the money she took to get out of the motel, and move away from the life she had there. Topo finds her in the middle of this process.

At the same time Billy shows up shoots Topo and his driver, and chases Chloe around in the motel. Eventually he falls through a window, cuts his own neck, and dies.
Chloe calls the cops to make sure her name is clean, and she can leave without any fuss. The money goes to evidence, at least a certain part of it.
Best part of story, including ending: Topo is supposed to be near blind but he can shoot people as they move, even four mobsters in a car. The guy seriuosly has to have some kind of unaddressed superpower. I liked this. Otherwise, this is an average crime story.

Best scene in story: The french mobster. Not meant to be funny but fairly unbelivable.

Opinion about the main character: Chloe is desperate enough to step to the other side of the law while she is cunning enough to clear her name from every possible accusation. Very clever.
