Detailed plot synopsis reviews of A Haunted House 2

In this outrageous parody of contemporary horror films, a man continues to deal with the demon that haunted him in the last film. A year after he ditched his demon-possessed girlfriend Kisha, Malcolm has moved in with Megan, a beautiful white woman, which Malcolm feels will earn him hatred from the black women in town. He also is the new father figure for Becky, a sexually active brat, and Wyatt, a strange young boy with an imaginary friend. Early on, things seem odd in the new house, starting from their move-in, when a safe crushes Malcolm's dog. Malcolm fails to revive it-- he attempts to use a bicycle pump, but it only inflates the dog like a balloon and sends him flying around the neighborhood. He also sees a creepy old doll that Megan brought to the new house, and he feels strangely compelled to have sex with it. There is also a box of old home movies found by Malcolm in the attic, and on them he sees a number of family outings that suddenly turn to murder... or, rather, attempted murder, as the demon in the films is not very effective at murder-- his rope snaps when trying to hang people, he lights himself on fire, and he tries drowning people using chairs that float. When Malcolm sees the doll move on its own and he sees Kisha pop up suddenly a couple of times, he calls a paranormal expert who confirms that he is haunted. His life continues to get worse-- his wife refuses to see the hauntings as she is too obsessed with her own flaws, the doll he had sex with begins acting like an angry stalker, and when he tries to sacrifice a rooster to appease the demon, it attacks him and breaks most of his kitchen. Finally, he hires two experts, a husband and wife who specialize in investigating the paranormal. They find Becky, possessed, refusing to part with a weird wooden box she found in the house. She eventually vomits on Malcolm, resulting in him being possessed, until he vomits into the box and closes it, successfully ridding his family of the demon-- or so he thought. Later, Kisha returns, attacking and killing Megan and Becky, and the film ends with Malcolm screaming, his fate unclear.

Best part of story, including ending: This is a phenomenally unfunny movie, which barely improves upon the original with a few clever parody scenes, but still remains worse than nearly every other comedy one can find.

Best scene in story: In a scene parodying the horror film "Sinister," the picture of the demon on Malcolm's computer keeps turning and staring at him when Malcolm isn't looking, eventually making funny faces and obscene gestures. It's the most clever moment in the film.

Opinion about the main character: Malcolm is given no real character-- it's simply Marlon Wayans screaming as broadly as he absolutely can. It's a deeply desperate and obnoxious performance.
