This is a romantic story where an American Indian fugitive kidnaps a woman and later falls in love with her. Aslinn Andrews returns home from work she finds Lucas Lucas Greywolf, an Indian activist who had escaped from prison in her kitchen. Lucas says that he only needs food and rest and he won't her in anyway but when Aislinn tries to call the police he ties her asks her to get naked and into the bed. He then ties her hand to his and goes to sleep.

The next day he wakes up Aslinn and asks her to go with him. When Aslinn asks about his crime he says that he had organized a demonstration at the courthouse in Phoenix but when it got violent and federal property was damages he was arrested. He says that he had only three months left in his sentence but he had to do something so he escaped from prison.

After a patrolman stop them and Aislinn lies to go through the roadblock, Lucas takes them to a dilapidated bar where there is a television so he could know where other roadblocks are. To not attract much attention Lucas pretends to make out in the bar, but when a policeman comes in they make a narrow escape.

They spend the night in the car in close confinements. After their car breaks down, they continue their journey on foot.

They find a service station where Lucas locks Aislinn in the toilet and goes back to repair the car. After Lucas has left Aislinn tries to escape through the window but gets injured and loses consciousness.

When Lucas returns and doesn't find her, he gets very worried. Aislinn wakes up to find Lucas giving her water and her arm seriously injured. He rubs some salve on her parched lips and bandage her arm. Aislinn soon falls asleep.

When she wakes up she finds herself before a Navaho Hogan. There she meets Lucas' mother, a Dr. Gene Dexter and Joseph Greywolf, Lucas' grandfather who is dying. Aislinn guesses that Lucas escaped from prison to see his grandfather before he dies.

Soon Joseph dies and Lucas angrily leaves everyone. Aislinn follows him to a plateau. She sees him releasing an animalistic howl of pain and desperation. She goes to console him somehow they end up making love. Then the police comes and arrests Lucas.


After Lucas is released from prison after ten months he goes to meet Aislinn to thank her for not pressing abduction charges against him. When he is leaving he hears a baby in the finds that Aislinn has given birth to a son, his son. He tells Aslinn to marry him or he will try his best to take Anthony away from her.


The next the day Lucas again comes to meet Aislinn to convince her to marriage. Suddenly Aislinn's parents come over who tell Aslinn to give Anthony to Lucas when she decline they get angry with her and tell her they won't have anything to do with her. After this Aislinn agrees to marry Lucas.

After the marriage Lucas takes Aslinn and Tony with him to the reservation, they the first night at his mother's place. The next day he them to his ranch.

The following goes by while Aislinn falls more in love with Lucas and him trying control his lust for her. One evening it storms and when Lucas couldn't find Aislinn and Tiny in the house he gets worried. He soon finds them in the trailer. It makes him realize how much he loves Aislinn and their son. They make love that night the first time after their marriage.

The next day they find Tony burning up with fever when they take him to the hospital they find out that he has pneumonia and it could be fatal. They are devastated with the news after hours of wait they the doctor tells them that Tony will be all right. The warden at the prison helps Lucas gets exonerated.
Best part of story, including ending: I like the story because of the angst Lucas has because he was discriminated for being a half Indian.

Best scene in story: My favorite scene is the scene where Lucas is relieved after finding Aislinn and Lucas safe from the storm.

Opinion about the main character: - I like Lucas because he fights his anger towards Anglos and falls in love with Aislinn.
