Svensson and his girlfriend Mia are found dead and Lisbeth's finger prints are found on the murder weapon. At the same time, she is being accused of murdering her former guardian Nils Bjurman. On the run, she begins to investigate and finds that it ties to the article which exposes Björck a henchman of Zala who seems to be the man pulling strings. Björck offers Zala's involvement for his safety but changes his mind and calls his boss for help. During the investigation by Blomkvist and Lisbeth they find out that Zala is in fact her father but by this time, the both of them are trying to eliminate each other. Zala almost succeeds in killing her but Lisbeth manages to survive being shot. Blomkvist finds her in a farmhouse in the end and calls an ambulance.
Best part of story, including ending:
I did not like the way that family was regarded in some circumstances as Zala beat Lisbeth's mother and tried to kill her. there is little regard for familial love.
Best scene in story:
I like the way at the end of the novel that Lisbeth responded to the threat to her life. She killed Zala with an axe to the face and shot at her surprised half brother who ran away after seeing what happened.
Opinion about the main character:
I like that Lisbeth did not seem to have any fear of what her actions may bring upon her even when it seemed she would certainly die.
