Billy Graham: God's Ambassador Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Billy Graham: God's Ambassador

This idea for this book was conceived in the mid-1980's, and Billy Graham's own comment was that the best record of his entire ministry lay in the photography that fills this substantial book. Lavishly illustrated, it is laid out in magazine format hardback and printed on high quality paper. Russ Busby spent much of Billy Graham's fifty-year career as his official photographer, recording his ministry and preaching on the world's continents. The quality of photography and explanatory text is excellent, as one would expect of a Time Life book; and the team production by Tehabi Books is superb.

Billy's life and achievements are presented, showing him preaching to the thousands in Los Angeles in the 1940's; in Moscow in 1992; and reaching the tens of thousands in the Georgia Dome, Atlanta, 1994. He received the 1,900th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - the first clergyman to be so honoured. In 1983 Ronald Reagan presented him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honour the president can bestow. In 1996 he and his wife received the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest honour the Congress of America can bestow.

Over much of the world Billy Graham is a household name, having touched and changed millions of lives. To this day, October 2001, his legendary high impact London crusade – lasting for three months of 1954 - in the Harringay Arena, London, is talked about on UK national radio.

Let the final word be from Billy Graham himself. He said: 'I am often asked, "Do you have any hope for the future of the human race?" - "Yes, I have hope! I don't think people can live without hope. What is oxygen to the lungs, hope is to our survival in this world. And the Bible is filled with hope."'
