Mikkel as the head of Yula has traveled to Lexina to claim his bride Sofia as defined by a contract signed between his father and his fiancée's dad twenty years ago. Apparently to the outrageous Mikkel, the fact that the two parties to that deal are either dead or crazy means nothing. Even less important is that his slave sent ahead of him impregnates Sofia. Mikkel insists that the older sister Kat, the CEO of Lex Central, marries him and beget the heir.

Kat has no choice, as her corporation needs the influx of capital that Yula can provide, but she has no plans to have a child with this pompous fop. As they travel to his planet, she begins to see a dichotomy in Mikkel. On the one hand he seems so strong and confident while on the other he bows to the Triden Empire. Still Kat begins to fall in love with Mikkel not realizing he has an agenda that if discovered could lead to his death.

CAST IN STEEL, CARVED IN STONE is an enjoyable science fiction romance that brings two worlds to life so that the audience believes in Lexina and Yula. The cast is powerful, especially Mikkel, a Scarlet Pimpernel in space, and Kat, a woman who knows what she wants, and goes out to achieve her desires.
