After spending all of her money, and most of her patience renovating this castle, one stormy night the thatched roof leaks and Hope dangles herself precariously on the roof in an attempt to patch it. At this moment, Ronan McCleod, the knight who owned this castle centuries earlier comes racing from the darkness to catch Hope just as she falls from the roof.

Hope's neighbors are three witches who've decided to choose a mate for her: someone strong enough to help her renovate the castle and sensitive enough to romance her as she's had frigid relationships in the past. Finding no one in the present, they concoct a spell to bring Ronan into the present.
