Mat Elayne and Nynaeve are in Ebou Dar looking for the bowl of winds to change the weather in their search they find a group of wilders who call themselves the Kin. While there Mat attracts the eye of Tylin Queen of Ebou Dar and is now her lover. Nynaeve after being attacked overcomes her block to save herself from drowning.

Egwene the new Amrylin Seat has started her planning to overthrow the false Amrylin Elaida and take Tar Valon. This book reads some what like a wrap up book to Lord of Choas, but has all of the qualities of the WOT series that makes them a joy to read.
