Annie Gooden is a very proud and stubborn woman who works in London's most notorious gaming hell. When the very man she needs to confront about her sister's honor is murdered, she is found holding the gun - the prime suspect. Benjamin Frake, a Bow Street runner, is called in to investigate the crime. He is saddened to realize that Annie could be the killer. He enlists the help of his prime suspect with the desperate hope that she is innocent. As they get closer to the truth, they become more and more emotionally involved. This book is a typical regency romance with a little bit of suspense and no sex.
