Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Heartbreak and Triumph: The Shawn Michaels Story

This is the story of a young man from San Antonio, TX, who went on to become one of the greatest wrestlers in the WWE. Out of all the wrestlers in what is now the WWE, there was no one like "the showstopper" HBK, Shawn Michaels. In his book, Shawn shares how he grew up as a military brat, and ultimately settling down in San Antonio, as a child, getting hooked on Wrestling, and making this his ultimate goal. From being in Southwest Championship Wrestling, to the WWE, everyone could see that Shawn had what it took, but he had to learn how to keep his temper, and his ego in check. Two things of which were very hard for him to do, especially when he felt wronged.

He rose to fame with Marty Jannetty as the tag team duo The Rockers, but that was not enough for him, and he parted from Jannetty under not so good terms. After parting from Jannetty, he rose as a singles competitor not only winning the IC, and European titles, but also winning the WWE Heavyweight Championship belt twice, thus being known as a grand slam champ in the wrestling world. However, it would cost him a marriage, and nearly another one.
During his rise to fame, both with ND WITHOUT Jannetty, he was considered a “lighting rod” for controversy, especially when the titles he won were involved. He was also known for hanging out with four individuals within the business, Kevin Nash, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman (AKA the 1-2-3- Kid), Scott “Razor Ramon” Hall, and Paul “HHH” Levesque. It was through his association with these men that one of two infamous events occurred in the business: The Madison Square Garden Curtain Call, in which the four revealed they were best buds! This angered the other wrestlers in the back, and it resulted in HHH getting the brunt of the backlash from it. He goes into honest detail on the infamous “Montreal Screw Job”, and how badly he felt after it occurred, especially after getting saved. In 1998 HBK gives the title to Stone Cold Steve Austin, during the height of the “Attitude Era”, and retiring, after learning of a crippling back injury. It is during this that he shares his stark admission to being addicted to pills and booze (Had been taking them since early days.), as a result of the surgeries. During this time, he meets and marries a wonderful young woman named Rebecca, who happens to be a Christian, and have a son. She believes that through her prayers and godly example, God changes his life, and helps him overcome the addictions. He believes he is miraculously healed by God, and gets back into the WWE as an in ring performer winning the WWE World Title one final time.
