InnerLand: The Door Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of InnerLand: The Door

College student Marc Hawley discovers a never before seen doorway in the wall of the attic of his old family home. The door opens into a passageway where none can exist in the ancient Queen Anne and leads to a strange new land filled with wizards, magic and 'people' Marc never before realized were possible. Tvek, the land's chief seer soon sends Marc and his new found companion Jono a quest to recover a missing 'Smoke.' The teens meet a young winged equine who is afraid of flying, cross the dangerous 'Sinking Sand,' fight the frightful marauder hordes not once but twice, and find themselves bivouaced with Curtain Wall Johnson's battalion.

Each ‘Auspicious Moment' experienced by the duo is accompanied by something magical and unexpected as the pair continue their journey over an enormous cataract thence along the underground waterway leading them to another sighting of the elusive vapor. Marc meets three more seers, before he at last is able snag the elusive smoke. He and Jono return the vapor to Tvek not long before Marc is drawn along a strange passageway which opens into the basement of the old Queen Anne. He is astounded to find he has arrived in time for supper on the day he first found the mysterious portal up in the attic.
